While blogging is a great way to send out information to a large group of people, this method clearly has problems when compared to other forms of communication on the internet. The first problem is the layout of a blog. A blogs layout and design is not user friendly and has a learning curve to it that will take to get used to. The layout is also very disorganized and important buttons, such as the one to create a new blog, is off to the side and doesn't stand out enough to let the user know where to actually start their blog. Secondly, there is no way to see how other people's posts have been updated. You will have to go and check the blog every day to make sure there hasn't been a change to a followers blog. Third, there are more efficient ways in order to keep updated information to any blog follower's. Starting a website can often be more reliable and efficient in organizing both information going and coming to that persons follower's. Blogging is also not as well known as other forms of communication. Even if the blog was made, it would be hard for people to reach it without someone to direct them towards the blog. There would be no other force other than you trying to get the blog attention. Finally, it just isn't as easy to use. Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are not only well known, but they are user accessible. Anyone can immediately sit down and create a comment or piece of content on any of these site with ease. These are just some of the drawbacks and I honestly believe this is why blogging has never caught on as big as other sites.
